Michelle asked, “How about trends in faux finishing techniques? Anything new and interesting that we haven’t already seen?” Good question Michelle, I’ve been looking around and trying to see what people are saying and doing. What I see and hear is that there is a bit of a trend towards wallpaper? That doesn’t tell us much about faux painting except that maybe faux painting could be following that lead and we’re moving towards more wallpaper-like applications. We saw how the wallpaper industry put faux looks into their catalogs of patterns. I never quite understood why anyone would want a faux look with wallpaper but non the less it was available. Back to what I was saying about faux moving in the direction of wallpaper, is that possibly we are moving in a direction of slicker applications, less muted color and more graphic like finishes.
