Wall Glazing Faux Painting Technique to Fix Color

February 21, 2008

I sure see this a lot. People go to the paint store and bring home color swatches and tape them up all over the room and deliberate for days and then finally they pick a color. They are sure it’s perfect because they have been studying it for a while and then the day comes and the painter purchases the color and paints the room. “It’s too yellow” exclaims the homeowner, “I thought I picked a soft pleasant livable yellow”.

At least today, stores offer color samples for some paint lines but that is not alway the case and sometimes people don’t test their color before they have it applied to their walls. I always mix my own colors and test them until they are perfect.

Anyway, I solved this customers dilemma with a quick wall glazing technique like the one I show you in my instructional video, Color washing and Glazing It was quick and easy I just used a white glaze mixture and a glaze mixture made from the color already on the walls. This technique simply dulled and lightened the color on the wall and it added dimension and character that were lacking with the flat paint.

I have used glaze before on a wall…..I just want to buy a can of paint and more the glaze in the paint and begin to paint…can that be done?….we do not have a lot of time; therefore, I do not want a long drawn out process…

can I just buy a can of paint ( I know the color I want) and more the glaze in the paint and begin to paint…
