Outdoor Painting
I’ve been working on an outdoor mural and wow I now know why I don’t do much of this. There is so many things that change during the day outside compared to working indoors.
First its cold in the morning, so I;m dressed in a heavy sweatshit and the dampness in the air messes with my dry time.
Then late morning happens and everything is perfect. My energy is high the day is warming the paint flows perfectly – all is beautiful.
And then its the afternoon and the long sleeves come off because the sun is beating down on me and glaring in my face. My colors get washed out in my vision and my paint dries as it touches the wall. I’m just plain irritated at this piont.
Finally its late afternoon and the sun has worked its way off my mural and out of my face and its getting cooler. Time for a sweatshirt and the wind picks up. I’m tired and cold and its time to go home. I really prefer temperature controlled climates for painting.
